Discover San Francisco
San Francisco is a standout amongst the most important urban areas on the planet, which mixes its individual and urban components wonderfully. It has numerous incredible stops, and flaunts one of the world’s most noteworthy waterfronts, offering staggering perspectives on the famous Golden Gate Bridge and the dazzling waters. Famous for Victorian houses, classic trams, active diversity, a beautiful waterfront, and a high red bridge, Bay City really has it all. Trending cuisine, from Michelin-starred restaurants to incredible food trucks; renowned symphony orchestra, ballet, theater, and opera; more outdoor adventure without limits. For all these reasons, San Francisco stands out as one of the must-see destinations on any traveler’s wish list.
THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE
With towers that are 227 meters high, its span that covers the estuary of San Francisco Bay, all painted bright orange, the Golden Gate Bridge is simply spectacular. It holds your attention regardless of whether you are driving, walking or pedaling through its 2.7-mile stretch. When crossing the bridge, you will find paradisaical cities, such as Sausalito and Tiburon, in neighboring Marin County.
CITY TRAMS
Climb up and down the beautiful streets of San Francisco hanging outside or sitting on classic cable car seats past Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf and other neighborhoods of the city: well, nothing can be more San Francisco than this. These historic cars have crossed the town since 1873. Also, visit the free Cable Car Museum and see closely how the cables that feed the trams work.”
FISHERMAN’S WHARF
Enjoy the cravings for seafood, sourdough bread, sea lions and souvenirs from one of San Francisco’s most visited neighborhoods, San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf has gained popularity primarily because of one feature: a wide variety of restaurants that stay on the water and serve freshly caught seafood. Stroll through Pier 39, and you’ll see seafood restaurants, shops, street performers and the area with the noisiest residents: a crowd of sea lions making a racket.”
UNION SQUARE
Discover the land of luxury in the city center
This beautiful square, surrounded by tall palm trees, located more or less in the middle of the city, is a luxury shopping place. Walk the streets that delimit the square to make your wish-list in the “everything is possible” style of finds at Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Bulgari. Visit also the major retailers like Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nike, and others. Come on Sunday for a champagne brunch at the Palace Hotel’s extravagant and luxurious Garden Court. At the end of the year, Union Square turns into a lovely, family-friendly winter spot with an ice skating rink and little ones admiring a huge Christmas tree, and shop windows shining on all sides.
GOLDEN GATE PARK
Gardens, clearings, tranquil lakes, here is the emerald heart of San Francisco, a classic city park where everyone from first-time visitors to regulars finds something incredible to see or do. The cultural center of the park is in the northeast corner, around a vast hall with fountains and an acoustic shell. On the north side is the Young Museum, featuring a first-class collection of classical art from around the world. Take the elevator to the top of the museum’s attractive asymmetrical tower (entrance to the tower is free) to have a spectacular view of the entire park, as well as the city, bay and Pacific Ocean.
GHIRARDELLI SQUARE
The imposing brick buildings of this impressive 1895 complex, the original site of the Ghirardelli Chocolate Factory, are now home to an elegant set of shops and restaurants, one of the most beautiful places to stroll and shop in the city. Stroll through corridors and squares to visit a variety of boutiques and gift shops or relax with the view of the dining area.
LOMBARD STREET
Put Lombard Street on your schedule on a trip to San Francisco. Beautiful, different and very special this location is the ideal for you that seeks to spend a unique moment there. Lombard Street is the most famous street in San Francisco, California. Considered one of the most important curved streets in the world, it has become one of the most visited places in the city. The well-known part of Lombard Street is situated next to the George Sterling Memorial. The section is stunning, for along the way you can see several pots of colored flowers and a well-kept street, where tourists take several photos, and they venture down or up to the stretch.
ALCATRAZ
One of the major attractions of San Francisco, the famous Alcatraz Island, home to a disused federal penitentiary is deservedly a postcard of the city. Walk through the communications sector, the board, the cell corridors, the dining room, and the courtyard where the prisoners sunbathed. Visit the museum on the ground floor and enjoy the projection room where small movies spend time telling about the island.
